Living Yoga Workshop with Stuart Alexander
Time & Location
About The Event
This Living Yoga Workshop takes us beyond what we view as the physical practice of Yoga, introducing us to Patanjali's 8 limbs of Yoga.
These eight steps basically act as guidelines on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life. They serve as a prescription for moral and ethical conduct and self-discipline; they direct attention toward one's health; and they help us to acknowledge the spiritual aspects of our nature.
The main focus of this 5hr workshop will be the first two limbs, the Yamas which can be thought of as 'right living' and the Niyamas, which can be thought of as 'duties or observances'.
This workshop is open to EVERYBODY, teacher or student alike. Stuart will teach us how to apply the Yama's & Niyamas into our daily lives, depending our understanding and learning their true meaning. It is believed that through continuous practice and dedication to these steps, you will reach unity with the Divine, or Samadhi. The first 3 hrs will be theory, followed by a 1.5hr asana workshop.
So come join us in learning the foundation of our yoga practice and perhaps answer the simple question, why do we do yoga?
